Debut “Contemporary Screens” at Villa Pamphili

On Tuesday, June 23, the first light of the screens under the stars came on, inaugurating the “Contemporary Screens” festival at Villa Pamphili: a project that from the first event found its balance between artistic quality, attention to detail, and authentic participation.
The evening, exclusively by invitation and reserved for hotel guests, welcomed a highly select audience, creating an elegant and suspended atmosphere, where time seems to slow down and leave room for listening and sharing. The guests followed the screening in attentive and engaged silence, allowing themselves to be traversed by the cinematic narrative
and then finding themselves in a lively and participatory dialogue at the end of the film.
This first event immediately established itself as one of the most distinctive formats in Hotel Villa Pamphili Roma's Entertainment & Lifestyle program, helping to build a distinctive cultural experience consistent with the facility's positioning.

The film and the story

The opening night featured Familia, by Francesco Costabile: an intense and magnetic work, capable of moving and engaging the audience through a profound and universal narrative.
The presence of the director and lead actor Francesco Gheghi further enriched the experience, creating an authentic dialogue with the audience. The conversation, moderated by film critic and journalist Pedro Armocida, alternated between moments of analysis and reflection and more informal exchanges, always maintaining high attention and encouraging a spontaneous and engaged discussion.

A complete experience: between cinema, taste and atmosphere

Ahead of the screening, a themed dinner created by Chef Scognamiglio accompanied guests on a sensory journey consistent with the evening: an elegant convivial moment designed as a natural prelude to the film.
Open-air cinema thus confirms itself not only as an event, but as a complete experience, where cultural content, gastronomy and atmosphere merge into a unified narrative. An approach that reflects Villa Pamphili’s vision: creating recognizable, memorable, and high-quality moments.

A manifesto evening

Enhanced by a location of rare charm and an event setup curated in every detail, the atmosphere proved immersive and refined, turning the evening into a memorable experience. The presence of press and media further amplified its resonance, strengthening the positioning of the project.
A special thanks goes to the Accademia del Cinema Renoir with Ciro d'Emilio and Manuela Ianniello for the creative direction, to Francesco Costabile and Francesco Gheghi for their presence, and to Pedro Armocida for his elegant and insightful moderation of the talk.

The beginning of a new summer ritual

This first evening was not only a debut, but a statement of intent: the beginning of a project aimed at building increasingly relevant and engaging cultural experiences.
An exclusive, invitation-only programme dedicated to guests, designed to naturally and unobtrusively accompany their stay, offering moments of high quality and perceived value.
A new summer ritual has begun — made of images, encounters and authentic connections under the Roman sky.

Upcoming events

The programme continues with new moments of cinema and dialogue, confirming a coherent and high-quality curated path.
Next event: Tuesday 07 July
"The Story of Frank and Nina" by Paola Randi
with the presence of director Ciro D'Emilio and lead actor Giampiero De Concilio
